Comrade Shashi Prasad Jha passed away today at the age of 93 on September 4, 2026. From his student days, he was deeply influenced by Marxism and became a part-time worker of the undivided CPI. Later, he joined the CPI(M) in 1978 and worked in the Employees' Federation in the then Santhal Pargana district.

He subsequently became a member of CPI(ML) and helped strengthening the Federation’s Gope faction and the party. A serious and dedicated reader, he remained deeply engaged in political discussion and debate throughout his life and remained firmly committed to the party and its revolutionary politics. 

CPI(ML) pays revolutionary homage to Comrade Shashi Prasad Jha. His long life of commitment to Marxism, political education, teaching and the communist movement will remain an inspiration to comrades and future generations.
